Dido is a psychotherapist with twenty-five years experience. She is also trained in counselling and hypnosis, and specialises in transpersonal psychotherapy.
Trained initially in addiction counselling at Promis Recovery Centre in Kent, Dido took her diploma at the Psychotherapy and Hypnosis Training Association in London, gaining full membership of both the National Council of Psychotherapists and the National Council for Hypnotherapy, along with entry onto the Hypnotherapy Register. She was awarded Senior Clinician status with the NCH in 2002.
Dido went on to take her Advanced Diploma at the Centre for Transpersonal Psychology in 2003 and was registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. She has recently returned to clinical practice after an eighteen month sabbatical to write about the connection between early trauma and altered states of reality, and currently works under the banner of the National Council of Psychotherapists.
Dido is also registered with PTSDhelp, offering trauma therapy at a reduced rate to service (and ex-service) men and women and their families.
The mainstay of therapy is a secure and confidential environment in which you can feel free to discuss comfortably even the most intimate details of your life. The particular methods used will vary according to your unique temperament and the nature of your problems but may include imaging, dream work, art work, focusing, hypnotherapy or relaxation techniques (for PTSD sufferers the rewind technique has been shown to be particularly helpful). You will never be obliged to work in ways with which you are uncomfortable, although you may be encouraged to try things that are new to you.
Fees
Therapy appointments are one hour at a charge of £55.
PTSDhelp is one hour at a charge of £35.
